On May 28, 2025, the 81th Zhi Xin Forum was held in Lecture Hall 117 at the Zhi Xin Building, which was jointly organized by the College of Electronic and Information Engineering and Shanghai Institute of Intelligent Science and Technology of Tongji University. Prof. Tielong Shen from Dalian University of Technology to deliver a speech on“Distributed Control and Game Theory for Large-Scale Agents: Modeling and Mean Field Approximation”.

First, Professor Shen introduced the complex interactions among vehicles in large-scale automotive societies under intelligent and connected environments, highlighting the new challenges this brings to distributed vehicle control. He then elaborated on the mean field approximation method for modeling large-scale agent swarm behavior and showcased practical examples of distributed control strategy design for automotive power systems based on a mean field game framework.

After the report, Prof. Tielong Shen had a cordial exchange and discussion with the participating teachers and students, and he also encouraged them to actively broaden their horizons, explore, discover and solve new scientific problems based on his own experience. This report further expanded the vision of our teachers and students and enhanced their understanding and knowledge of distributed control and game theory for large-scale agents among the faculty and students.
