Recently, the College of Electronic and Information Engineering held an activity of making bath beans. The international students were invited to experience this Chinese Intangible Cultural heritage.

Bath beans, made of soybean powder and Chinese herbs, were used to wash in ancient China to make the skin smooth and shiny. Before the Song Dynasty, there was no “soap” for face-washing, hands-cleaning and bath-taking, but bath beans were used. Bath bean is named after the fine powder of beans as the main material made of fine pellets. After the introduction, different tools for making bath beans were showed, such as the board, grinder. Then the students tried to make their own bath beans with the teacher's guidance.

Last but not least, those who had successfully made the bath beans were awarded the certificate.
